Catholic Schools Week
We'd like to thank our local community organizations, businesses, and civic leaders for their continued support of Catholic education at Mother Seton School.
We believe in fostering in our students a sense of community and service to others, to encourage them to look beyond themselves and help those in need. The Student Council is holding a COAT DRIVE, beginning today! Bring in your gently worn winter coats, hats, gloves, and scarves. They will be delivered to the Emmitsburg Lions Club, for donation to Emmitsburg Elementary's Homeless Student Outreach program.
In addition, students are asked to participate in Trash-Free Snack Day today! Let's show our community pride and commitment to our Green School initiative by only using reusable containers for our snacks and lunches today.
We have amazing students and we're proud to celebrate them!
Did you know that our students regularly score well above the national average in standardized tests? And that our graduates are well-known for their high achievement and strong work ethic?
Today, our students will enjoy fun activities, like Prayer Partner Bingo, one of their favorite school traditions. Our Prayer Partner Program matches students in grades Pre-K through Grade 3 with older students, who serve as mentors and friends. Our older students receive the benefit of growing their leadership skills and putting their faith in action. Our younger students benefit from having positive role models, and wait excitedly for their turn to be the "big" Prayer Partner.
Without our families, where would we be? Today we celebrate our SOUP-er parents with a special treat AND....NO HOMEWORK!
Keep an eye out for our classroom Mannequin Challenge online!
It's Sloppy Joes and Small Talk! Today we welcome Daughters of Charity, Seminarians, and Priests to have lunch and a casual chat with our students about Religious Life.
Without our faculty and staff, there wouldn't be Seton Spirit! Our faculty and staff will be rewarded today to a special luncheon from the Home and School Association. Later, it's the 8th Grade vs. The Teachers in our annual Have-a-Heart Volleyball game! Come watch - tickets only $2 with proceeds going to help friends of MSS with cancer! Our goal is $500, help us reach it!
