Our Annual Fund Campaign is not just another fundraiser—the proceeds provide school operating expenses. In order for MSS to remain an affordable option for as many families as possible, we keep our tuition low. To be able to operate the school without having to raise tuition means making up the difference between what tuition covers and what our actual expenses are. Currently, our tuition covers only 77% of the actual cost per pupil. Thus—the Annual Fund Campaign. Read this important message from our Principal.
Our goal for 2018-19 is $59,000. With your help, we are confident we can meet that goal and continue the Seton legacy.
Mother Seton School is dedicated to strengthening the hearts and minds of future leaders by offering a strong overall program. Will you join us in our mission to provide the best education for our students? Together, we can further the legacy and mission begun so many years ago, as we celebrate and give thanks for:
• The commitment of faculty and staff and the knowledge imparted to our students over the years
• The active learning environment which excites and broadens the horizons of our students
• The witness of serving others that students and alumni have contributed to our region
• The enduring friendships created at MSS that continue through the years
• Our rich, Catholic community, which has formed hearts strong in moral character and committed to living as Jesus’ disciples
• Our patron, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, and the many Daughters of Charity that have served at MSS and who have touched the lives of many students and families
• The dynamic future that awaits us… our students know they are chosen by God and they are prepared to be academically successful at the next level
Your contribution will help enhance curriculum development, offer tuition assistance for deserving families, and ensure long-term investments in our future through our living endowment and capital improvements. Your gift ensures that our future is secure and the exciting legacy we celebrate remains possible for years to come.

To create a legacy impact, please consider planned giving options—bequests, memorials, charitable annuities, or gifts of life insurance, real estate, business interests, appreciated securities, etc.
Many employers match employee donations. Please ask at work. If you need assistance or want more info, contact the Advancement Director at (301) 447-3165 or email@example.com.
UNITED WAY CAMPAIGN
Please consider donating to Mother Seton School. You can do this by writing in the school name, address (100 Creamery Road, Emmitsburg, MD 21727) and phone (301) 447-3161 on your pledge card at work. If you can’t locate the write-in space for designated gifts, ask your campaign coordinator for help.
Tell your friends to write-in Mother Seton School too! A few dollars from a group of friends can really make a difference!
Donating appreciated stocks can provide significant tax benefits to the donor while offering a substantial gift to Mother Seton School. Donors receive an income tax deduction for the full market value on the date of the gift, provided you have owned the securities for more than 12 months.
Most donors avoid capital-gains tax otherwise due on the sale of the securities.
Unfortunately, when funds are transferred electronically, the donor's name is not always included in the transfer information. Please let us know of your gift so we can properly match the stock that we received with your gift record.
IRA CHARITABLE ROLLOVER
This special provision allows individuals age 70 1/2 or older to exclude from taxable income-and count toward their required minimum distribution-transfers of IRA assets, up to a total of $100,000, that are made directly to public charities, such as Mother Seton School.
As always, it is the responsibility of the donor to reference IRS guidelines and consult with your financial or tax advisor.
Our Library Gift Fund allows you to have your child honored on their birthday, or any special occasion, with a lasting gift to the school. With a $20 donation to the MSS Library Gift Fund, we will purchase a needed book for the Library and affix a bookplate inside with your child’s name, the occasion, and special message. As a bonus, your child will have the privilege to be the first to borrow the book.
The program may also be used to commemorate other occasions - holidays, special achievements, milestone, etc. or to honor teachers, or other special friends.
What better way to show your support for our teachers and our students than by funding an item from our teacher wish lists! These extra items will enhance our classrooms and enrich the learning experiences for our students.
Your gift will not only allow us to continue to keep our tuition affordable for our families, but at the same time, you will provide a gift that will benefit our teachers and students directly in the classroom. Now that’s exciting!
Look for our 18-19 Wish Lists to be posted soon!
