MSS Annual FUND

Our Annual Giving Appeal is not just another fundraiser—the proceeds from the Annual Giving Appeal go toward our Annual Fund, which provides school operating expenses. In order for MSS to remain an affordable option for as many families as possible, we keep our tuition low. To be able to operate the school without having to raise tuition means making up the difference between what tuition covers and what our actual expenses are. Thus—the Annual Giving Appeal.

Our goal for 2016 is $63,000. With your help, we are confident we can meet that goal and continue the Seton legacy.

Love, Lead, Learn is our chosen theme for this school year. We strive to create an environment at MSS where our students can practice these imperatives, putting their Faith into action as they do. A walk around the school will show how we have implemented these three principles in all we do:

They Love - From our Vincentian Marian Youth club, where students volunteer throughout the community, to school-wide service projects, MSS students learn the value of putting others before themselves and reaching out to those in need. When students graduate from MSS, they are recognized as compassionate and kind individuals who advocate for the least among us.

They Lead - MSS intentionally instructs our students on habits of successful leadership. They learn what it means to be proactive, how to begin with the end in mind, and how to organize and prioritize. Our students leave MSS formed to be empathetic leaders ready to face the future.

They Learn - Students learn to write well and often, practice research methods, possess good study habits, and become curious learners. Our graduates have the skills to continue to be successful in their educational journey—high school and beyond—and many of our alumni credit their education at MSS as the foundation of their success.

With your generous support, we can continue to encourage our students to Love, Lead, and Learn all in service of the Lord.

APPRECIATED SECURITIES

Donating appreciated stocks can provide significant tax benefits to the donor while offering a substantial gift to Mother Seton School. Donors receive an income tax deduction for the full market value on the date of the gift, provided you have owned the securities for more than 12 months.

Most donors avoid capital-gains tax otherwise due on the sale of the securities.

As always, it is the responsibility of the donor to reference IRS guidelines and consult with your financial or tax advisor.

Our Library Gift Fund allows you to have your child honored on their birthday, or any special occasion, with a lasting gift to the school. With a $20 donation to the MSS Library Gift Fund, we will purchase a needed book for the Library and affix a bookplate inside with your child’s name, the occasion, and special message.
